DEVELOPMENT
Central Otago Hockey administers a number of representative teams which take part in Regional and National tournaments
Central Otago Hockey is committed to providing quality hockey experiences to as many participants as possible.
Our age group representative programme starts with our U13, U15 and U18 levels for both boys and girls.
Our representative programme also includes the Otago National Hockey Championship Men & Women's teams as well as Masters who also attend national tournaments.
Our programmes provide our players with an opportunity to experience tournament style play and develop important hockey and life skills. Fantastic hockey experiences which build life long connections to the sport of Hockey is one of the key drivers of our youth representative programme.
One of the goals of our representative programme is to develop a number of players to the required level for the HNZ Performance Network and then ultimately onto the Black Sticks.
CENTRAL OTAGO SENIOR
Central Otago Association want to aim to support and develop our Club players and Coaches. We want to try and support these players to attend National Hockey Championship each year.
CENTRAL OTAGO U18
Central Otago Hockey Association aim to send teams to the Under 18 National Tournaments each year but given we are a small association it isn’t always possible. Teams will then be confirmed on a yearly basis due to player and coach availability
CENTRAL OTAGO U15
Central Otago run a development program for players of the Under 15 age group. This starts near the end of the regular playing season and will run as a 6 week program for all players in the under 15 age group.
CENTRAL OTAGO U13
Central Otago along with the other associations in the region work together to run a 6 week program for players in the Under 13 age group, this program finishes with a 2 day tournament which is hosted and moved around by the associations in the region.
